1:29 am - Memorial Cup 2005 Tickets for Sale

petitcanadienne
One of the longest roads of sports is coming to an end. The cup which every junior player aspires to and hungers for, will be faught in the storied city of London, Ontario...

THE 2005 MEMORIAL CUP!!!

See the next "number 99", young Sidney Crosby. He's been praised by scouts, players and fans all over and even by Mr. Gretzky himself. See the CHL's leading scorer and the highest scoring team in the CHL LIVE!

The London Knights set OHL and CHL records this year with the most wins, without a doubt one of the top teams the Ontario Hockey League has EVER seen! See the top OHL defencemen Danny Syvret, the top OHL scorer Corey Perry and see what all the fuss is about in their own arena.

The Ottawa 67's are one of the most consistent teams in the CHL. They have been to the OHL finals 5 times in the last 8 years, quite an achievement in the world of OHL hockey. With the Killer behind the bench and over 1000 wins under his belts, he know how to get these boys sparked up to win.

From the WHL, the championship series is currently 3-1 for the Kelowna Rockets, last year's champions. Kelowna boasts one of the tighest teams defensively, lead by Shea Weber, in the WHL with a solid blue line. If they make it, it would mark their third return to the Memorial Cup in as many years. The Brandon Wheat Kings might be down in the series but not out. The Wheat Kings play a fast pased, offensive game with the WHL grit. Either team would make for an amazing final contribution to the Memorial Cup.

This technique can be used to link to the journal of another user:

Myself and iamcdn are selling these tickets because of work we got stuck doing, summer school and various other horrible, horrible things that keeps us from the opening games of the cup.

The following games are for sale, there are in the 300 section.

Sat. May 21
Rimouski vs. London
7:00 p.m. ET

Sun. May 22 (PENDING!)
Ottawa vs. WHL
4:00 p.m. ET

Mon. May 23
London vs. WHL
7:00 p.m. ET

Tue. May 24
Ottawa vs. Rimouski
7:00 p.m. ET

PLEASE! send emails to wilson_megan at hotmail dot com, AND i_am_canadian___ at hotmail dot com for enquiries, and if you can a comment here as well. We are currently taking offers for tickets and are working out a system for payment/ticket exchange.

This is a once in the lifetime event and an amazing experience for any hockey fan. We both went to the Cup in Quebec City and had a blast! This time wil lbe even better because we are both die hard 67;s fans, I live for the Rockets and we wanna see how Crosby can handle.
London is a great city and the arena (John Labatt Centre) is a good size in the middle of the city.

If you have any questions please ask. Serious enquries only please.

(67's undergo Moodie change)

" The Sun has learned left-winger Lane Moodie has been dealt to the Owen Sound Attack.
In return, the 67's received a second-round pick used in this summer's draft (to select LW Bryan Bickell -- 65 games, 72 points -- from the bantam champion Toronto Red Wings) and a seventh-round pick next summer. "

" Ottawa will also confirm later today that it has traded LW Adam Chapman.
Chapman is on his way to the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds for a fifth-round pick in next summer's draft. "

" "Yes, it clears up our overage situation a bit," said Kilrea, who'll now have four players contending for three open overage roster spots: D Russ Moyer, D Carter Trevisani, LW Jonah Leroux and RW Miguel Delisle.
Kilrea had previously said one of those spots has been guaranteed to Moyer. "

Also stuff on former 67s Zenon Konopka and Greg Walters...

8:29 am - TWO confirmed trades

crazyass_canuck
According to NOOF,

"The Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds have acquired Adam Chapman from the Ottawa 67's for a 5th round pick in the 2003 OHL Draft.

And, the Ottawa 67's sent Lane Moodie to Owen Sound for the Attack's 2nd rounder in 2003 and 7th round pick also in 2003.

I've been saying on here and in the chat room that a deal between Ottawa and Owen Sound HAD to be in the works because Owen Sound sent their 2nd rounder this year to the 67's for Ottawa's 2nd rounder next year. So this deal appears to be Moodie for a 2nd, a 7th, and a swap of 2nd's (Ottawa and Owen Sound swapping 2nds in 2003)."

10:20 am - Import Draft Pick

iamcdn
http://www.canoe.ca/OttawaSports/os.os-06-27-0068.html

Suprising to many 67's fans, the German goaltender that Ottawa has been eyeing all season and even brought down to Ottawa to catch a few games was not pick. Instead, Ottawa used it's 4th pick overall to select, 17-year old native of the Czech Republic, Lukas Mensator.

Ottawa traded it's second round pick to the Kitchener Rangers in exchange for a sixth-round selection in the 2004 OHL draft. So it looks as if Karol Sloboda will be back in the 67's line-up next season.

Some info from actual article:

" Mensator tended goal in 31 games for Karlovy-Vari of the Czech league last season, and posted a 3.08 goals-against average and a .917 save percentage.

Mensator was a sensation at the under-18 championship for the bronze-winning Czechs. He won the best goalie award and was named a first team all-star with a 1.57 GAA and .947 save percentage. "

" With Europeans Mensator and standout defenceman Karol Sloboda guaranteed roster spots, Ottawa traded its next pick (40th overall) to the Kitchener Rangers in exchange for a sixth-round selection in the 2004 OHL draft. "

Caps name Cassidy coach

By CP

WASHINGTON -- The reality of getting his first NHL coaching job sank into Bruce Cassidy when he turned on the TV in his hotel room.

"I saw my name on ESPN so I guess I've arrived," the Ottawa-born Cassidy, 37, said during a news conference called by the Washington Capitals yesterday to introduce him as their new coach.

He becomes the second-youngest NHL head coach. Carolina's Paul Maurice, 35, who entered the league at age 28, remains the youngest.

"I'm anxious, I'm grateful, I'm nervous," Cassidy, a former 67's star defenceman said. "It's a great opportunity for me. I certainly didn't see it coming this year, but I'm glad it did."

For the last two years, Cassidy coached the Senators farm team in Michigan. He was AHL coach of the year last season with the Grand Rapids Griffins.

"
The talk lately (actually for 2 years !!) has Mr. Kilrea interested in Owen Sound right winger Matt Passfield. I believe the rumour had Carter T. headed to the Attack with Passfield coming this way. If there's any truth to this deal, as an Ottawa fan I say let's do it !! I think the 67's could've pulled this deal off a short time ago, but now Mike Futa is in charge, I don't think we'd get Passfield straight up for Carter.
